Key Questions

Where do you want to go ?

Another obvious place to start, although you may be considering more than one possibility – we are of course perfectly willing to offer quotes for two or three tours to help with your final destination decision.

When do you want to go ?

A question that may warrant some discussion – there may be a couple of possible seasons convenient for your group to travel. We may also offer advice as to times of year or days of the week that offer the best rates for hotels or flights.

Would you like us to include a free place ?

It is quite standard practice for the group organiser to travel free of charge on the tour. In some cases, particularly when a lecturer accompanies the group from the UK, there is the need to factor in a second free place. Please let us know your requirements.

What type of hotel and meal arrangements do you prefer ?

In most cases, we can offer advice based on the experience of previous groups and based on what is practical within the itinerary. Do let us know your preferences. We realise that expectations can vary from group to group and we will discuss this fully with you.

How intensive do you want the tour to be ?

Some groups like a more leisurely tour with some free time, while others specifically want an in-depth study tour.

Do you have an idea of the budget for your tour ?

You may well have a clear idea of your members’ expectations of what the tour should cost. It is always useful if a realistic budget can be established from the outset to enable us to provide an appropriate quotation.

How long do you want your trip to last ?

Another fairly obvious question ... you know what length of trip works best for your group, although we may offer advice with some destinations as there may be only certain days of the week for flights.

How many people do you anticipate in your group ?

Obviously we don’t expect you to know exactly how many people will be in your group, but it is helpful if you can make an educated guess so that we give a realistic quote. Clearly, economies of scale mean that the greater the number, the lower the price.

What is your preferred means of travel ?

While some destinations will decide this for you, when it comes to destinations in close Europe there are some choices, for example: Coach & ferry? Coach & Channel Tunnel? By Eurostar with local destination coaching? By air with local destination coaching?

What level of guiding would you like ?

You may choose to travel with a lecturer from the UK; you may prefer for a guide-lecturer to orchestrate the programme of visits locally; you may want a local guide only for some specific visits. We are happy to provide appropriate guide-lecturers.

Do you want to use the tour to raise money ?

By adding a small margin to our quoted price, you tour can generate funds for your society or association
