Series of groups already booked for this unique exhibition
Monday 13th April 2009
At Heritage Group Travel we pride ourselves on finding unique specialist events. The big success for 2009 is the Autumn exhibition in Leuven celebrating the life and work of Rogier van der Weyden. We have been delighted by the high number of groups who have taken advantage of making a short trip to Belgium at the end of this year to visit this special exhibition.
The tours which we have arranged allow participants to view an astonishing collection of works by one of the greatest Flemish artists. Born around 1400 van der Weyden is known for his exceptional ability to portray emotion. His oeuvre is an exceptionally important milestone in the development of visual art.
For the very first time some 120 paintings have been drawn from private and public collections from around the world. Many of these works have never travelled before whilst others last saw Flanders 5 centuries ago. We are unlikely ever again to view such an extensive and beautiful representation of van der Weyden’s work.
The very many societies who will be travelling with us towards the end of this year have elected to take up our offer of our first-rate guide. Mme Lieve Dejonghe is a Brussels resident as well as a gifted historian and linguist. She delights in leading cultural groups for us, often to places which are not available to the general public.
We have negotiated pre-booked tickets as well as a special tour of the exhibition itself. Do contact us if you’d like to organise a trip for this September-December.
